Company Ethics
At Cole's Printery, we believe that investing in our staff should be one of our top priorities. To this end, we actively encourage staff morale and training through such means as attending the Dale Carnegie courses, technical training in the USA and Germany and frequent visits to trade fairs. In appreciation of staff opinion, we hold a quarterly general staff meeting involving all members. This provides an opportunity for any issues to be raised, developments discussed and suggestions made.
Internal Awards
Our quarterly award system involves all departments. Names of the awarded staff members are placed on a plaque. At the end of the year, the person whose name has appeared most frequently then wins the title 'Employee of the Year" and a paid foreign holiday with spending money.
Care and Concern
Other efforts we make include air conditioned press rooms with extractor fans for more comfortable working conditions, evening transportation for those on the night shift, and the donation of old computers to staff members for their personal home use.
Environmentally Aware
To avoid waste, we give all of our usable paper off-cuts to government primary schools. Whatever remains, is then recycled. We use environmentally and user friendly inks, fluids and solutions which are OSHA approved. Less gentle substances are then disposed of in an environmentally sound manner. We stock recycled paper and card suitable for almost any printing job. We support selected good causes such as The Barbados Red Cross, The Barbados Cancer Society and The RSPCA. Finally, we actively encourage support of the Caricom economy.
