Our Printing Departments
The Prepress Division
At Cole's Printery, we have a team of highly skilled Prepress Operators trained in a wide range of leading industry software for both PC and Mac platforms. Our Prepress Department can design to your specifications or create an original image utilising many years of design experience. As printers and publishers, we can edit and proofread files supplied to us, should our clients require this service. Proofreading is a condition of our ISO discipline, and is a prerequisite for all files created in-house. Our department is equipped with a state-of-the-art Computer-to-Plate (CTP) processing unit. This superior equipment gives the option of the high end Stochastic Screening (FM), or Standard Screening (AM) ensuring that your imagery is reproduced exactly. Jobs are processed faster as the CTP unit takes electronic files directly to plate removing the manual element of stripping.
The Press Division
Cole's has a compliment of four Heidelberg presses from Germany ranging in sheet sizes of 12" x 18" up to 20.5" x 29.5". The Speedmaster 74 and Speedmaster 52 are both fully computerised five colour presses with IR drying. Our Digital Offset Printing Division includes the Hewlett Packard 9500 Full Colour Digital Printer and the HP 1050 Indigo Digital Press with variable-data. This combination of presses enables us to produce high quality print whilst allowing us to keep our prices reasonable and competitive. Our pressmen are highly qualified having trained at the Heidelberg Training Plant in Germany. Further to this, they undergo continuous training abroad to ensure that they remain on the cutting edge of technology. Our press division maintains a two shift system five days a week with the facility to implement a third should it become necessary. This guarantees that we are able to meet agreed deadlines and provide you with outstanding quality products.
The Postpress Division
At Cole's Printery we are well equipped to deal with the fast turnover of jobs leaving the presses. There is the Muller Martini 1509 Saddle Stitcher that collates, cover folds, feeds, stitches and trims in-line. The Bourg Binding System is able to bind publications in excess of 400 pages. The Heidelberg Stahl Folding Machine has the capacity to fold a sheet as large as 20.5" x 29.5". The D&K Single-Kote EZ 27" Thermal Laminator will provide a perfect laminated finish if required. Our guillotines will trim with precision, our cylinder press will die-cut folders and cards, and our perforating and numbering machine will supply sequential numbering.
