Sales
All candidates joining Cole's Printery as Account Managers need to be self-motivated. The ideal applicant must have transportation and will be required to serve our existing customers, as well as seek new accounts to broaden our customer base. He/She should have previous experience in the sales and service sector; the ability to communicate at all levels; to be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure, as well as have basic computer knowledge.

Client Service Executive (CSE)
The CSE assists the Account Manager in communicating with the customer and the plant and is responsible for ensuring that art work and copy are submitted as scheduled and that complete and accurate job specifications are received from the customer. The CSE is responsible for transmitting proofs after production department approval and must be aware of the status of all jobs at all times so that customer questions can be readily answered. In general, the CSE makes more time for the Account Manager to sell and assists by finding opportunities to introduce additional services to existing customers. Applicants applying to be a CSE should have a strong background in printing and its terminology, be good communicators, hold a certificate in English and have a basic computer knowledge.

Prepress
Cole's Printery boasts a very efficient and creative Prepress Department knowledgeable in a wide variety of software. Candidates applying for a post within Prepress must be computer literate and familiar with the following programmes: Pagemaker; InDesign; QuarkXPress; Illustrator and Photoshop. Applicants must be able to provide original creative layout and design and have an in-depth knowledge of typography and type faces. Candidates must hold a qualification demonstrating a sound Graphic Arts knowledge from a recognized university or college. A minimum of two years previous experience within the printing industry is desired.

Press
All Press operators must have an intimate knowledge of the mechanics and capabilities of press, and have an excellent eye for colour and detail. Experience in aligning registration; mixing and loading of inks and plates; cleaning and maintenance of presses is essential. Applicants require adequate experience in operating, trouble shooting and quality control on presses of a similar size and complexity. Please see our Resources page for press details. Postpress
Applicants joining our Postpress Department are responsible for finishing the printed products. Responsibilities vary and include machine operators for binding and saddle stitching, folding, trimming on guillotines, collating and die cutting. Positions are differentiated by their respective work procedures and relative training. Operative knowledge and maintenance of machines is essential as is the ability for trouble shooting and quality control. Please see our Resources page for Postpress details. Estimating
The Estimating Department is responsible for ensuring that all jobs are priced correctly. Excellent skills in communicating are essential as Estimators work directly with the Sales Department to gauge the exact specifications of each job produced. Estimators refer to Cost Centres in pricing artwork, stock, inks, wash down time, finishing etc. Applicants wishing to join our Estimating Department must be computer literate and hold certificates in both Mathematics and English. A minimum of two years previous experience within the printing industry is desired.

Accounts
Candidates joining our Accounts Department will be responsible for multiple tasks including payroll, accounts payable, reconciliation, data entry, filing, typing and other duties as assigned. Applicants will also be required to assist in maintenance of financial records and journals. Computer knowledge in spreadsheet and database systems is essential as are excellent oral and written skills. A minimum of two years previous experience of accounting within the manufacturing industry is desired.
